Dr. Gregory Harris is the author of three books, his first book Jamie Noraa The Inspired Dreamer, second book, How I Got Off That Tree Limb and third book A Rasin In The Valley Of Death, Grief and Loneliness. Greg’s passion for writing started in Elementary School when his 5th grade teacher Mrs. Beatrice Lewis allowed him to write plays that his fellow classmates became cast members.

In High School Greg ran for State Reporter of (DECA) Distributive Education Clubs of America and gave a speech which he received a standing novation as the teachers cried, and the student body cheered him on. Greg is also a Gospel Recording Artist having several CD projects released out on the market. Greg performed at a Democratic Rally for former president Bill Clinton.

Greg and The Little Rock Community Choir was featured on Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel on the BET Network. In 2023 Greg was nominated for 11 Rhythm of Gospel Awards and 2024 Greg was nominated for 3 Prayze Factor Awards for his song God You Did It Again. Greg was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended school in the Pulaski County School District. Greg also taught school for 10 years in the Little Rock School District. Greg received Uni-Serv Training from the National Education Association in 2000 and in 2001 in Union Advocacy. He worked 8 years in Charlotte, North Carolina for the North Carolina Association of Educators supporting teachers and education support professionals in Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. In 2007 Greg was hired as the Executive Director of The Des Moines Education Association, an affiliate of the Iowa State Education Association. Greg retired in 2019 and went on a cruise with his brother John Haris where he completed the writing of his lates book about his life’s journey of how he got off the tree limb. Greg comes from a large family. He is the 3rd child of 10 children born to the Late Sgt. George Henry Harris and his mother LaVenita Harris resides in North Little Rock Arkansas. Greg has a passion for writing, and he hopes that his work will inspire generations of writers to spring forth in 2025 and beyond.
